By admin | April 9, 2008
The choice of thesis topics should be defined by the interests of a thesis writer. It is desirable to choose the thesis topics related to the topics of previous reports, courseworks, term papers, etc. When choosing thesis topics, the following issues should be taken into account:
- Thesis topics should be relevant to the present days. In other words, they should touch upon the most burning problems of political, economical or cultural life of the present days;
- Thesis topics should be briefly formulated. Narrow the brood topic to a specific question;
- Thesis topics should be interesting and catching. Although, no matter how catching the topic is, the sources should be enough to cover it fully;
- Thesis topic should open the new roads for conducting your independent research. Besides, a thesis topic should give you an opportunity to present your abilities to search, gather and analyze the facts and the documents found.
Once you have chosen a topic, start searching the sources, actual and documentary information, books, articles, and the data taken from the internet related to this topic. It is the first step to your mastering your personal research abilities.
It is better to start searching the sources with the list of the works recommended. One or two books will not be enough for writing your thesis. To use the sources found means to use the thoughts, ideas, examples, numbers, etc. for making your own original text based on generalizing the materials of several sources.
