Choosing a Topic for Thesis

Choose thesis topics you are interested in. It is the main criteria. You will spend much time with these thesis topics, so your life will be better when this time is spent enjoyably. Choose thesis topics you consider both socially important and fascinating.
Select something your advisor considers interesting and he is well informed about. For sure, when it is not possible, you could want to change the advisor instead of finding another topic.
Pick a subject matter, which will be useful in your future career. When your aim is your academic career, you need to pick a topic you can simply change into journal articles, and that it will lend well to the following research.
Decide on a topic, which establishes your place in your field. You should conduct your research and find out a topic fitting into some bodies of literature, but that counts on theory and expands this.
Choose research, which is unique. You should conduct important research to be sure that this subject has not been done yet. Be creative and select an idea, which stands out from others as innovative and original.
Think carefully of you select a controversial subject. Academics are sensitive people, and in each area, there are some positions and topics, which will send highly educated persons into intellectual temper tantrums. It does not mean that you need to avoid topics, which push people’s buttons. But, when you decide on a controversial problem, you should think carefully about if it might limit your employment, publishing opportunities, or tenure.
